This was created by using plasticine, whereby the inverted shape of the bird was made, then concrete poured into the mould.

Looks to me like "primitive style". That is mostly what I do. I like simple but powerful.

Ah, this was far some simple. I am not sure if you are referring to the all over piece or the creation process. In regard to the creation process it was made by making the inverted image of the bird out of Plasticine & then pouring concrete into it.

Thanks for taking note

I'm a metal caster. I had to get fairly good at casting before trying it with 1500 degree metal, so I know the process wasn't simple.

I was referring to the style.

I meant simple or primitive, as in native art. rather than making the sculpture very modern and realistic, you took certain aspects of what you wanted to capture, and made a piece that is pretty, and representative, but not especially realistic. Like cave paintings of animals, that while not all that realistic looking, are clearly representative of the animal they were painting. Here it is thousands of years later, and its still easy to tell deer from buffalo for example. Maybe its because I am part native, but I have always liked that kind of art.

In short, I meant it as a compliment, not a criticism. I honestly like it.

Cool shot! I got no skills in making sculptures but you certainly have it. I really like how you indicate the feathers, looks really nice. B-)
I tried to make a penguin sculpture when I was little, but in the end it looked more like a cat, I still have no idea how that happened...
